My name is Adrianna Sinclaire and I live in British Columbia, Canada. I went to see John of God for the first time in May 2009. I had done a fair bit of research prior to making the arrangements to come to Brazil. When I first looked at coming to Abadiânia, there was a lot of information and quite a few tour guides to choose from. From the start, I liked the fact that Monica is a tour guide from Canada, and this gave me some inner peace before I even contacted her for information.

This was actually very important to me. From my very first email to her, she expressed very genuine warmth and seemed truly interested in my questions and concerns (of which there were many!).

Once I connected with Monica, I knew that she was the person I was meant to be with...everything just worked out effortlessly. Once I arrived in Abadiânia, Monica took care of me completely (and I mean completely!). She had a room made up for me that was beautiful and it was very homey and comfortable, especially after 30 hours on a plane. I feel that she went above and beyond to make my entire stay the absolute best that it could be. Monica really tuned into to all of my needs, whether they were food related, emotional support or taking her time to really show me around. Had I come on my own (as I was originally thinking of doing), I would have missed out on all of the things that Monica introduced me to. Having her translate for me was huge, especially at the Casa De Dom Inacio. Each person has only seconds in front of Medium Joao and there are hundreds of people waiting in line to see him. Monica personally translated my requests so that I received the healing I needed.

At my first day at the Casa, I had a visible surgery. I was feeling a mixture of anxiety, confusion and feeling slightly overwhelmed. She not only took me to the very front of the main stage, she also took photos of this very important day and comforted me in a way that was very soothing and created safety and security.

When I went through a very difficult period during my second week at the Casa, Monica helped facilitate a very deep process for me and she held an energy that was completely loving, forgiving and accepting. Through this beautiful and gentle spirit, I have been able to experience love, forgiveness and gratitude, especially for those things (and people) that challenge us greatly. My trip to Joao De Deus is what was because I had the support and guidance of Monica. I recommend her without reservation, because I have experienced how she is, not only with me but with everyone she connects with including the people that live in Abadiânia.

I have only the deepest gratitude and respect for Monica and it has been an honour to have had her share this part of my journey with me.

My Abadiânia experience was not exactly what I expected. I came to be healed by one of the most famous healers in the world. In fact, I experienced two weeks of intense introspection. A lot of reflections on my life, on healing, on happiness. It has been a process that allowed me to reach closure from the past, it was the grand pardon. Not that I was a novice on introspection, but this stay allowed me to come full circle.

Even if my high blood pressure did not spontaneously heal, I was able to heal many internal aspects. Maybe I shall experience physical healing later.

It was not always rosy and ecstatic as in some of my meditations. I had what I call spiritual crises. In these moments, Monica was a great help.

Monica Péloquin is really, in my opinion, a very first class guide. She takes charge of everything and with her, the journey and the process were comfortable. She is not afraid of fetching what is good for us; moreover, she became a master for me this way. She is present; she is generous of her time, alive and full of life.

Certainly, it increases the expenses of the journey, but I assure you that if you are like I am, a bit insecure when visiting a foreign country, this expense is worth every penny of it.

A criticism: she likes shopping, but this idea belongs to myself. If you like this activity, even in this small village, she will know how to negotiate the best deals for you. It is an internalization journey where healing comes if one connects to his or her inner self, as we do not always receive the healings we aim for.

I became aware about some of my behaviors that need to change. I was deeply impressed at the sight of the help from above and from the Entities. My faith was revived when I saw Joao making visible operations with a knife while people remained quiet and ecstatic.

Monica did her utmost to guide me, reassure me and make me regain my composure so that I become aware of my strengths and of my automatic limits of which I was unaware. Everything is perfect.

My dear Monica, what a beautiful journey! It is true that I would have been able to travel to Abadiânia on my own for a fraction of the price but I would have missed all the safety you brought to our small group, namely by your knowledge of the Portuguese language and Brazil, your familiarity with the protocols of the Casa of Joao, your guidance to obtain all the necessary papers for the journey, your support, your total availability, your comments, reminders and "entertainment” throughout these two weeks and your constant cheerfulness.

I felt perfectly safe, carefree, the slightest of my needs fulfilled, sometimes before expressing them, as for example: hairdresser appointments, visits to the massotherapist or other.

Our four guest’s small table was always animated with fascinating discussions, especially on the subjects of spirituality. And you’re a great story teller! It was pure enjoyment to hear you tell your numerous life experiences. Especially, your good knowledge of the work done in the Casa prevented me of experiencing many trials and errors I that would have been impossible to avoid, had I travelled alone. Finally I advise everyone not to be alone for that journey, especially the first time. Things to be improved? Nowhere to be found! I give her a 10! Thank you for this precious time spent with you and our two other companions. You are really a "sweet" person whom I like very much!

Hello Monica! When you will read this note, I will most likely be on the plane which will lead me beneath other skies. This journey was for me an extraordinary event! I loved it. I thank you for your patience, your compassion and this magnificent smile always on your face, or almost!!! I love you for what you are and for what you will be. Because if we rely on the Universe, it will surprise us and we will discover other angles of ourselves, often extraordinary ones. I am sure I have chosen the best guide and an extraordinary friend! Through you, I met magnificent people! I bring back many recollections of this place. Besides, I return with Dr Augusto! What a magnificent present! Take advantage of every moment together with Joao and with all those who accompany him! Thank you one thousand times, thank you!

On my arrival here, I was feverish inside. I seemed sure of myself, arrogant and disturbing. I felt tensed and nervous. The radiating energy floating here teaches us to face our ego, a disturbing and unusual feeling.

Everything went upside down when I began to meditate in the room and I got into a trance in the beyond. I experienced the purest joy, the opening of the heart and I received the divine light right in my face. Since then, every meditation brings me extraordinary benefits. It is the school of life, here, in Abadiânia.

Here, everything pours as a streaming brook, everything comes and goes in the direction of the current. The pleasure to live in Abadiânia is intense and ephemeral. The light is dazzling and raises us to a superior level of consciousness which reaches the depths of our being. Blackness is dissipated because we have the light. The distance separating us from our internal god is smaller because we establish a link with our essence every second, to allow us to live in a state of grace that allows us to live intensely our daily life. The light shines all the time in us and we are able to see ourselves as we are and to love ourselves as we are, thus to vibrate with the energy of the moment. Clarity visits us by moments and we conquer our deep identity, to embody ourselves in a guided tour of the moment.

Life in Abadiânia is intense. We live there in joy because we find peace, a peace we searched for so long. The pleasure of being here is real happiness, I feel home, in my house, the house that has always been mine.

Thank you Monica to have allowed me to know the entities embodied in JOAO,
who radically made me become aware of who I really am.
